Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Oregon

in dec. 2004 a convenience check from a credit card company was stolen out of my mail box this check was written for 800.00 dollars I reported this to the credit card company in Jan.2005 and had to keep reporting it and writing letters to the credit card company stating it was not me or anyone i know who wrote it finely in september 2006 I had a conference call with the company and their fraud department and they said it was over and done now in Jan 2011 I am getting calls from a collection agentcey saying I owe 3,800. dollars on this.
