Legal Question in Criminal Law in Oregon
Desperate to remove a warrant
I was convicted of grand theft in the state of Oregon. I was charged and sentenced to 800 hours of community service. I completed the community service hours and moved back to the state of California. I now have a warrant in the state of Oregon because I was unaware that I could not leave Oregon for 2 years. How can I begin to clear up this situation?

Re: Desperate to remove a warrant
Contact an attorney in Oregon. The attorney can work on getting the warrant withdrawn or arranging for you to self surrender. It is better for you to go back and face the problem than to wait until you are arrested. Your lack of understanding of the requirement not to leave the state for two years will be more believable if you return on your own.
