Re: felony offense
The best thing for you to do is to contact an attorney licensed to practice law in the State of Oregon. Most criminal defense attorneys will charge a nominal consultation fee. It sounds as if you have a viable defense. However, you are still going to have to jump through the proverbial hoops to avoid a conviction. Remember also that at the time of your arraignment the Judge will ask you if you can afford to hire your own attorney. If you cannot, speak up and tell the Judge. You have a right to a court appointed attorney and the Judge will appoint one to represent you. Do not think that you can try to talk the DA out of pursuing the charges against you, yourself. Anything you do say can and will be used against you. Get an attorney to help you as soon as possible!
