grand jury
when a case is brought before a grand jury to see if there is even enough evidence to make a case is that open to the pubic??

No, grand jury proceedings are presented by the district attorney's office to the members of the grand jury. Typically, the only persons who are present are the jury members, the deputy district attorney presenting the case, and the witnesses called to testify.
