Legal Question in Criminal Law in Oregon
paying off probation
I was just wondering once you pay off your probation, does that mean your are no longer on probation? I am curious because I know someone who is on probation and cant leave the state. Once all the fees are paid does that mean they can leave the state or do they still have to wait until the original time was to be over?

Re: paying off probation
If you are sentenced to probation for 6 years, probation is over after 6 years. The payment of fines or fees is only a condition of probation. That said, I can often get probatin modified so that it is terminated by the court after fees/fines are paid.
