Rape victim
Does a rape victim have to be examined by a doctor?

Re: Rape victim
No examination is required.
Failure to report the rape immediately, and failure to submit to a physical examination makes it very difficult for the D. A. to convince a jury that there was a rape.
I am familiar with a case in which the lady failed to report the matter immediately. There was an alleged attempted rape. The D. A. tried the case to the judge, and he didn't believe the victim.
These are normally 'one on one' cases, and without some physical evidence it is a matter of who appears to be more creditable (read that as likeable).
'One on one' cases are very difficult to convict on. Many D. A.s will not accept 'one on one' cases without some collaborating evidence.
Lots of luck
