Speeding - proof of speed

No, the police officer doesn't have to show you proof that you were speeding. He can just make up something. If you go to court, he doesn't have to have any proof there, either, other than his say so.I have argued that courts should not take the cop's word that the machine said whatever just like they don't take the cop's word that the Breathalyzer showed a certain level of blood alcohol.Now that cops have video cameras in their cruisers, they should have to video each speeding stop with the dideo showing the speed measurement.But cops don't like video. The reason they don't like video is that video tells the truth and cops don'ty like to be saddled with the truth.
