Briefly, 74 yr old man has violent-tempered 40 yr old man inhabiting basement. Elderly man owns home, but when attemts to evict basement freeloader, he gets building inspectors called for faulty 'this or that', or freeloader call police & reports ficticious burglaries, drugs in house, computer online, you name it, he calls about it. Elderly man wants him out, but can't afford more fine, police harassment, etc. from retaliatory calls from freeloader who pays no rent or bills, just intimidates the elderly residents, including females, and calls cops when he doesn't fet his way---What can I do to get this bum out of the house that won't allow the bum a chance to retaliate and cause more misery?

Re: Abuse of Kind-hearted Elderly Man

The elderly man needs to contact an attorney to handle the eviction. If the facts as presented are true, it is also possible that the elderly man can also obtain an elder abuse restraining order to prevent the younger man from remaining in the house and continuing his actions.

Either way, this is not something the elderly man should try to do on his own. He needs to get an attorney as soon as possible.

Our office handles this type of matter. We also offer a low cost initial consultation.
