Legal Question in Family Law in Oregon

adoption of foreign child with green card

How much should it cost for me to adopt my wifes daughter (age 13) who's father is unknown from Israel.

Daughter has legal residency card and will be applying for U.S. citizenship this year.

Only surviving grandmother lives in Israel and is disabled by aneurysm.

Re: adoption of foreign child with green card

Cannot give an answer without more facts.

Specifically, was the mother ever married to the child's father?

If so, was the child born before they got married? Or was the child born during the marriage?

When you say the father is "unknown" does that mean you just don't know where he is? Or does that mean that the mother does not even know his name?

Has the child ever lived in the same household with the mother? Has the father ever paid any money for the support of the child? Or attempted to pay any money?

Does the father named and identified as the father on the child's birth certificate?

If the mother and father were married to one another, when and where the get divorced? What does the divorce decree say about child custody and visitation rights?
