Legal Question in Family Law in Oregon
The age of discontinutation of child support
I have a daughter who will be 19 years old in June and graduating from high school. She is living with her mother in Oregon. She may or may not be attending college in fall of 2003. The Divorce was final in Dec.'92.
Does the child support end in June of 2003?

As I understand your question, your divorce is governed by Oregon law and I am only licensed to practice law in Washington. You must seek advice from an Oregon lawyer.
Re: The age of discontinutation of child support
What do the provisions for child support in the divorce decree say? Were there amendments to the child support provisions of the divorce decree? What do they say? Mother or the child could seek modification of the support order to provide for continued support for a child attending school until age 21 if they can make a showing of a substantial change of circumstances. ORS 107.108. There are additional important requirements set forth in the law that you should be made aware of. You should consult with and retain an Oregon lawyer to assist you.
