ANSWER:
Yes. That is your right. Totally up to you. However, by having your friend present, you lose the "attorney-client confidatial communication privilege" that would otherwise apply. But in most domestic relations cases (in contrast to criminal cases), this is probably not a major concern.

Yes, you can bring a friend. But do understand that by having your friend present, you loose the attorney-client privilege of confidentiality of communnications in your discussions with the lawyer.
Probably has little practical effect on the situation you are presenting, but we as lawyers have to advise you accordingly.
