Legal Question in Family Law in Oregon
Child Guardianship
My granddaughter age 15 is living with me with her father's consent. Her mother is deceased. Should I pursue guardianship or simply get a power of attorney to act in her behalf

Re: Child Guardianship
ANSWER:
No need for a guardianship at this point. Your granddaughter will be 18 -- and legally an adult -- in less than 36 months. A power of attorney as allowed by ORS 109.056 will be sufficient.
