Re: divorce

It means that the court has no record of the judgment debt having been paid. Payment of a judgment debt "satisfies" the obligation. Until then, the judgment debt remains "unsatisifed."

When a judgment debt has been paid, the judgment debtor has a right to obtain from the judgment creditor (person to whom the money was owed) sign a form know as a "Satisfaction of Judgment" and cause it to be placed in the court file. (Judgment debtor prepares the form for signature by the judgment creditor.)
