Re: Divorce & restraining order

YOUR QUESTION:

Is it a conflict of interest for a husband to retain a lawyer for a divorce proceeding, and have the same lawyer repersent his girlfriend for restraining/stalking order agaist his soon to be ex-wife and step-son?

MY ANSWER:

Maybe. But only the husband and the girlfriend would be adversely affected by whatever potential conflict might exit in the situation you have described. And therefore only the husband and girlfriend have any reason to be concerned, or standing to object.
