Legal Question in Family Law in Oregon

Divorce

My divorce is supposed to be finalized. I had a falling out with my lawyer who kept me in the dark about the whole process. How do I find out if my divorce is final without talking to my lawyer?

Re: Divorce

Go to the clerk's office at the courthouse and ask the clerk to pull the case file so you can view its contents. (It is a matter of public record, open for inspection by anybody who asks to see it). If you see a document called "Judgment of Dissolution of Marriage," and it bears the signature of a judge, it's a pretty good indication that you are divorced. If such a document is not contained in the case file, you may reasonably assume that you are still married.
