Legal Question in Family Law in Oregon

How to handle two custodys battles at the same time with two fathers? In two sta

I have no clue how to deal with both my son's fathers are trying to obtain custody of their children and take them from me at the same time, and one father lives in Oregon, and the other in California. I recently moved to CA from OR, and don't have the choice of legal aid in both states due to not being a resident in either place. I have been the primary caretaker for both my almost 6yr old, and soon to be 19mon. old for their entire lives, and the older son's dad already petition for sole custody, but I was given temp.custodial custody, and now my younger's son's dad is trying to follow suit, and believes he who moved away when our son was only 6mon. and made sparatic visits has a chance to gain sole custody, and is in search for evidence to prove me unfit. I'm not claiming perfection, but I don't believe I have any big skelton's in my closet, but since I don't know about CA law, and with the two pursuing this at the same time, nor if the 2nd father already filed, and if not, then do I file in CA or OR? Since I haven't moved into my apt. yet, and am trying to just now establish myself and have been staying with relatives. I'm lost and need someone to please help. I love my kids, and don't want to lose due to lack of knowledge.

My suggestion would be that you go to the Family Law Facilitator's office at the LA Superior Court, 111 North Hill Street, LA, 2nd Floor and they can help you out and give you some guidance. I would go there as soon as possible.

Good Luck--AttyKaren
