Joint check

Can a husband sign his wifes name to a joint check. The wife is left out of state no way to contact her.

If you are talking about issuing a check on a joint accoutt, you can sign your own name. No need for your wife to sign, or for you to sign her name.

If you are talking about endorsing a check received that is payable to your wife, you can sign your wife's name on the back of the check so long as it is being deposited into an account that is held jointly by her and you together.
