Legal Question in Family Law in Oregon

I left Oregon (for Europe) with my daughter 25yrs ago. I did not attend a hearing to show cause as to why I should retain sole custody. By default I lost custody and was therfore 'in contempt of court'. My ex-husband has since died. I wish to come back to the USA to visit. How do I get rid of this contempt of court. Is it subect to the statute of limitations?

Forget about it Unless you have an outstanding warrant pending for your arrest, you have nothing to worry about. Failure to attend a hearing, resulting in your losing custody of your daughter, is not a criminal offense, nor is it something that constitutes contempt of court.
