We have legal custody of our grandchildren, can they use our last name?

Re: using last name other than legal one

NO. The mere fact that you have legal custody of another person (even if that person is a minor child who happens to be your grandchild) does not result in a change of the child's legal name, nor does it mean that you are legally free to have the child use your last name.
