QUESTION:

ANSWER:

Under Oregon law, in the event of a divorce, money received by either party during the marriage is presumed to have been acquired through the equal joint efforts of both parties. This is a disputable presumption and may be "rebuttted" depending on a number of various reasons too numerous to detail here.

It would be advisable for you to discuss this situation with a lawyer. Yes, it will cost you some money for a lawyer conference, but it may well be worth it in the long run. $125. Give me a call if you want to proceed further.
