Legal Question in Family Law in Oregon

I live in Oregon. What do I need to do to change back to my maiden name? I lived in the state of Washington for a few years and was divorced there quite a few years ago. I did not have my name changed back at the time of divorce, but now I want my own name back. Do I have to file a petition in court to do this so that I can change it with social security, dmv and other places legally?

No need to go to court. Just get a certified copy of you divorce decree (it should indicate you prior name) and take it to Soc. Sec. office and DMV office and tell then you want to revert to your name prior to marriage, now that you are divorced.
