Legal Question in Family Law in Oregon
Modification in another state
If I got a divorce decree in oregon, and no longer live there, can I get a modification done in the state I live in now, or do I have to back to the state my original decree was filed in? If my ex has failed to comply with the divorce decree, can I file papers thru court in a different state than the original state the papers were filed in? Neither one of us live in the county where the original papers were filed.

ANSWER:
Cannot answer your question without additional information.
First, what is it that you seek to modify? Custody? Visitation? Child Support? Alimony? Property division? Or what?
More specifically: What is it that you want a judge to do for you?
If you ex has fail to comply with the divorce decree, just what is it that the ex failed to do that he/she was required to do? Or did do that he/she was ordered not to do?
Second, Do either one of you still reside in the STATE that rendered the decree that you seek to modify?
Third, if you are seek modification of custody and/or visitation, which parent presently has custody?
Fourth, what state do you live in, and which state is it in which the other former spouse resides? And in which state does the child reside?
