I'm filing contempt charges against my ex for non-payment of support and for ignoring several other orders in teh judgement. What happens if he does not show up at the hearing?

ANSWER:

It all depends on what exactly it is that you are asking the court to do upon finding him in contempt. Your question does not indicate the type of contempt sanction you are seeking. (In other words, assuming he is adjudged to be in contempt, what do you then want the court to do about it?) This is important as the type of sanction being sought is determinative as to the procedural aspects of a contempt proceeding.

Also, if this is a proceeding for non-payment of child support, I don't understand why you are doing this yourself, rather than going through Child Support Enforcement.
