Legal Question in Family Law in Oregon
Past Child Abuse
My ex-husband told me something
he did when he was younger that
could possibly lead him to legal
issues even perhaps jail time. He
told me a year ago when we were
still together and I am just
wondering if I am legally required
to tell someone what he did to
protect myself in the future.

Re: Past Child Abuse
NO, as a general rule, there is no "squeal law" applicable to the exchange of verbal communications privately exchanged beween spouses while married to one another.
This is known as the "husband-wife privilege of confidential communication" and is set forth in Rule 506 of the Oregon Evidence Code, codified as ORS 40.255.
