Legal Question in Family Law in Oregon
I had a planned pregnancy with my boyfriend and he left when i was 9 weeks pregnant. i moved to Texas(when i was 36 weeks pregnant waiting for the "father" to come around. he never did. he told me he didn't want anything to do with either of us) i moved to be closer to family while i had my first child. and recently moved back to Oregon. he is not listed on the birth certificate (or any other records). he is not paying child support (unemployed). The father is bipolar and unmediated and has a Oregon criminal record (misdemeanor not involving the child). and has a green card. I just worry about my and my sons safety.
if i leave things the way they are can a future husband/boyfriend adopt without the father consent?
if i go after child support what will his visitation/child support look like?

ANSWER:-----> YES.

ANSWER:-----> Don't even think about it! Leave well enough alone. If you go after him for child support, he most likely will seek custody, not just visitation. Best advice is not not take that risk.
