Legal Question in Family Law in Oregon

I just got out of prison after serving a 9 year sentence. Got my Drivers license to meet parole/probation obligations (reporting weekly, treatment classes, community service etc...) and started attending full time school through a government grant (FAFSA) to obtain a Bachelors Degree in computer sciences. Got a letter 3 days ago from child support enforcement stating that I owe 25,000 in arrears and if it is not paid they will suspend my license in 30 days. Don't they have to offer me some type of leniency for this debt or am I just SOL.?

It's going to be difficult to eliminate the arrears unless child's mother will help you by filing a satisfaction of judgment saying you paid her. Otherwise, you should contact child support and explain and see what they can do. At minimum, they should accept some kind of monthly payment of $25-$100 just to keep them from suspending your license.
