Legal Question in Family Law in Oregon
Remarriage and child support
My ex and I have a very odd custody situation. We agreed on joint, legal and physical custody of our boys with the children spending every other week at each parents. This is complicatd by the fact that I waived cs as to not suffer from the bad feeling that my ex would harbor from having to give (me) $. I would now like to pursue a mod. and establish cs per Or. guidelines.
I am getting remarried to a doctor with only a few years in pp and many expenses of his own. We have never comingled our finances and live very modestly. My ex makes about $80,000 a year vs my $20,000.
My ex now states that if I proceed with the cs mod. that it will be me that will be paying him $600+ a mo. I cannot afford to retain an atty. only to find out I would have to pay ex and had have new spouse responsible for my boys. What is the law in Or.?
