Legal Question in Family Law in Oregon
Am I still responsible to pay?
I have been paying court ordered payments faithfully.Minor child turned 19 in Dec.03 and quit attending community college and does not plan on attending in the future. Her mother refuses to repay support payments still being deducted from my payroll.I feel that I should be repaid for payments after child quit school, Do I have any legal recourse to this situtation? Thank you for your responses

Still responsible to pay? Yes, until you get it changed.

Take a look at Oregon Administrative Rule (OAR) 137-055-5120.

In essence, you need to send written notify the child support enforcement agency involved in your case (either the local county DAs office or the State Division of Child Support) telling them that daughter is no longer attending school. Doing so will trigger the actions required to be taken by enforcement agency, as set out in OAR 137-055-5120.
