Legal Question in Family Law in Oregon

My son needs to move on

How can I legally make my 18 yr old son move out? I love him, but he is verbally abusive and I am tired of being bullied.

Re: My son needs to move on

Your 18 y/o son has no legal right to occupy your home (or be on your property) without your consent. You have the right to lock him out, if you want.

Technically, if he refuses to voluntarily leave when you order him to do so, he becomes a trespasser. Call the police (non-emergency) and see if police will take criminal action.

Alternatively, you can go to court and get a court order (essentially, an eviction order) directing him to leave the premises by a fixed date and time. If he fails to comply, the judge will then direct the civil process section of the local sheriff's office will then take action to forcibly remove him (the same as they do when an apartment renter fails to pay the rent and the landlord undertakes an eviction proceeding).
