Spousal Support in Oregon

My fiance and I want to marry, but we are afraid my wages will be garnished for his spousal support and/or federal back taxes. Is this fear real?

NO. Simply by getting married to a person does not mean that you become liable for your spouse's pre-marital debts.

Just be sure that you keep "your" money in separate accounts that do not carry his name (such as would be the case with a joint account). Joint accounts can be garnished for debts owed by either one of the joint account holders.
