What are the steps to have Spousal Support reduced or terminated?

Step 1. Obtain a copy of the entire court record from the clerk of the court that rendered the divorce judgment.

Step 2. Call a family law lawyer and make an appointment for the lawyer to review to records you obtained from the court. If the facts and circumstanmces show that a substantial and unforeseeable change of circumstances has occurred affecting your ability to pay and/or the ex-wife's neec for the money, modification may be appropriate. The lawyer (much like a doctor) will be able to diagnois the case and render an opinion.

Step 3. If modification is appropriate, hire the lawyer to get the job done.
