Legal Question in Family Law in Oregon

how to switch custody

My ex-husband has full legal custody of daughter and I have visitation. He wants to give me full legal custody how does he go about that. He has given me a few papers but nothing from a court. I want to make sure it's done properly and legal. He would have to modify our divorce decree wouldn't he? and I would have to sign papers also wouldn't I? Thank you so much for your time,

Re: how to switch custody

You could file a petition to modify custody. Then together you could file a stipulated judgment formailzing the change in custody. I would recommed consulting a lawyer, in order to determine the most efficient method of accomplishing your goals.
