Legal Question in Family Law in Oregon

wifes ex husband not fulfilling courts orders.

My wifes ex husband is supposed to carry health insurance on their two children. And we are supposed to half all copays. I carry the insurance and he pays half of nothing. My wife will not try to remedy the problem. What can I do as the step father do to recover the past 3 years of medical insurance costs and get the ex husband to follow the divorce settlement? Thank You.

Re: wifes ex husband not fulfilling courts orders.

Legally, you can do nothing. You are not a party to the divorce between your wife and her ex-husband. Of the terms of the divorce decree between your wife and her ex-husband are not being followed, it is a matter between them (and not you) and it is up to your wife and her ex-husband to see to it that the terms of the court's judgment are caried out.
