Legal Question in Federal Tort Claims in Oregon

malicous prosecution

Over three years ago I was charged with two felonies, finally after great distress and loss of everything (my home and business) the prosecutor dismissed, knowing the facts of the case all along that proved my innocence. I want to sue. What are my chances?

Re: malicous prosecution

This is a complex and highly specialized area of the law. I suggest you contact some of the very fine lawyers with expertise in this arena. In the Portland area, I would suggest several lawyers you might contact. Try calling or dropping an email to Chris Bottoms (listed as "M. Christian Bottoms" on the Oregon State Bar's website lawyer directory, at www dot osbar dot org). Other choices would include Michael Schumann (at the Steenson, Schumann firm), or David Parks. Tell them I sent you.

Most lawyers handling this area of the law will at least talk with you for free, to figure out if they can help, and whether they can handle things on a contingency fee. Time is of the essence here, however, so don't delay. Good luck to you!
