Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Oregon

I was attacked by a dog in May the owner of the dog told me and the reporting officer that she would pay my medical bills. I have set three letters and called the reporting officer but they still haven't paid. If I press charges with the police, will this force them to pay?

Not directly. But if the person is convicted of not controlling a dangerous animal, the judge can order her to pay restitution to you, the victim. You could also sue her in small claim court for the harm caused by the dog.
