Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Oregon

civil law suit

My husband was in an auto accident when we lived in Oregon. We now live in Washington. Our insurance co. is having their staff counsel represent us in the law suit. It was my husband's fault and the complaintive is stating soft tissue damage. They also filed for punitive damages. Our policy limit is $50,000 and our ins. co. does not pay anything for punitive damages. If we don't have any money can they make us sell our house, garnish my husbands social security (he's retired) and garnish my wages also. What if my husband dies? Can they keep garnishing my wages for something he did?

Re: civil law suit

You may wish to consider a bankruptcy to limit what they can recover. Speak with a bankruptcy attorney. I recommend David Stirbis of Stirbis & Stirbis at 2535739111.
