Legal Question in Immigration Law in Oregon
When is a child acknowledged as immediate family?
I am engaged to an American man and we are filing a family fiance visa application. My daughter got pregnant at 15yrs and has expressed a desire to have me take over custody of her daughter, my question is this does that make my grandaughter my immediate family and entitle her to the same legal consideration as it would if she were my own child?

Children adopted under 16 years of age are treated the same as biological children for immigration purpose.
