Legal Question in Immigration Law in Oregon

Procedure for renewing I-688B, status determination

I entered US in 2001 as a student with F1 status. I married before graduation and filed petition for adjustment of status. INS sent me a letter saying they will notify me within 36 months if interview is needed. I don't know what exactly is my status at the moment as I am not with F1 status anymore. The employment authorization expires on 12/10/2004 and I don't know how to renew it. Thank you very much in advance.

You must file for new work permit where you filed adjustment.

It depends on whether you married a US citizen or permanent resident. If you are married to a US citizen, you can file adjustment application and apply for work permit. If you are married to a permanent resident, because the visa number is not available, you cannot file for adjustment or apply for work perment.
