Legal Question in Immigration Law in Oregon
TN VISA & recent DUII
I am a Canadian citizen, and have been working in the USA with a TN visa. I have never been in trouble with the law. However, I was recently arrested for a DUII. In the state of OR the first offense is dismissable. As, it is considered a diversion rather than a conviction. My question: Is this recent arrest going to affect my chances of renewing my work visa next year?????

Re: TN VISA & recent DUII
Make sure in any event, that the diversion results in a complete dismissal of the case. You don't have any choice as of right now about declaring the arrest, if you're asked about it, but since there won't be a conviction, that shouldn't post too many problems since you're on a work visa. You should check it out with a local immigration lawyer, however.
