Legal Question in Insurance Law in Oregon

Standard Insurance Disability Denial

Hi, Can anyone suggest how I might go about getting in contact with other claimants that have in the past or are now facing a denial based on the diagnosis of Fibromyalgia and/or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome from Standard Insurance Co. One of the senators from my state has sent me a release and requested a copy of my file and also any additional info I can give him about the on-going problem with disability insurance carriers denying these claims. This company denys these claims based on an in house docs determination that these diseases are not disabling. Even with 2 doctors determinations that I am disabled they still will not budge. This is typical with several companies. I need to to show evidence that I am not the only person who has received an unjust denial . Enough denials will increase the chances of a stop being put to this kind of bad faith treatment from Standard who is also homebased in this state. I, obviously, don't have the money to pay a retainer fee for an attorney, so this is my last shot. Thanks!

Try going online to a fibromyalgia bulletin board. Otherwise you can get this kind of information during the course of discovery in litigation.
