My Question is My grandfather gave my father a rifle 20 years ago my father gave it to me my grandfather wants it back and has contacted a lawer any suggestions.

When someone "gives" something to someone else, it is either a "gift" or it is something that they can "borrow." It is either one or the other, not both. Gifts are irrevocable, and once a gift is made, the item cannot be "un-gifted." So an important question is whether there was a gift.
Even if there was no gift, your grandfather may run into a statute of limitation problem, which essentially means that he waited too long to assert a claim.
You would need to consult with an attorney who will probably give you a more precise analysis, based upon what actually transpired and when.
