Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Oregon
personal photo copyright
First, I helped a friend get a $250.00
claim due to your "Unclaimed funds" URL.
Thank you.
Second, I function as an "Expert" on a site
that fields questions on photography. A
questioner asked if his pesonal photos are
protected as he discovered that some lab
employees had made prints from his negs and
were exploiting them. Any thoughts would
be appreciated

Re: personal photo copyright
Personal photos are protected by copyright. The copyright only extends to the "original expression" contained in the photos, however. Also, without providing notice (such as "(c)2000 by XYZ) the protection is much weaker.
