Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Oregon
I am an onsite manager and am being evicted because of a new company taking over. I have a contract with my current company but not with the one taking over. They said I have to be out by the 1st when the contract ends. Don't they still have to give me a 30 or 60 day notice? I talked to my current employer and they have no issues with letting me stay as long as needed but as of the 1st they will not have any say in the matter.

If you're an employee whose tenancy is conditioned on your employment, then your landlord only needs to provide a 24-hour notice upon termination of your employment to terminate your tenancy, unless you've negotiated for something different. If the new company hasn't taken over yet, maybe your current employer has some leverage in getting you a new employment or lease contract, but my guess is that at this point most of the transition has been negotiated. So if your employment is at will (almost everyone is in Oregon) and your boss doesn't want to keep you on, they don't have to provide you with housing either. You might be able to offer some rental payment to stay on a little longer, but if they need the place for the new management, they're not required to let you stay.
It may seem unjust, but it's all the legislature has required.
