Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Oregon

My parents and sister are on Section 8 Voucher for housing, laws and regulations state that they can NOT rent from child, grandchild, brother, parent, grandparent, sister by blood, marriage, or adoption.

My question is what is a child by marriage and what is a brother by marriage. We have a home in my husbands name for renting out. He is a son and brother-in-law but I don't think that's what is meant by the term. I think child by marriage is if people have children then marry someone else then the children in the relationship are children by marriage and brother/sisters by marriage.

I don't want to take any risks. Please tell me the legal definition of child and brother by marriage.

Thanks.

Your husband is your parents' son by marriage. You are a daughter, you married him, making him your parents' son by marriage. You cannot rent the house to your parents under Section 8.

With government programs like this, attempts to "bend" the rules or interpret them to your benefit, can result in the loss of benefits or even a demand that any benefits already paid be returned to the government.
