Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Oregon
I rent a room in my town home to someone that really doesn't fit. I'd like to give her a 30 DAY notice Aug 1 but it appears that I cannot do that without cause. Is that true? I do have cause but I didn't witness it, the other renter did. Does it matter? There are many other reasons she needs to find somewhere else to live but I'd rather not go there. Our month to month agreement says 30 days notice. I live in Oregon.

If it's a month-to-month agreement, you do not need cause. Simply a 30 day notice during the first year or a 60-day notice after the tenant has lived there over a year will suffice to terminate a tenancy.
