Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Oregon

Hello, so I'm wondering if it is legal in the state of Oregon to be paying power for someone else's apartment, my landlodrd informed that im paying my next door naiboirs powers as well as mine because its hooked up to my meter, even though he gets extra rent from the naiboir for his power to be included. An we dont see a dime of it for power he pockets it. Thank you for your time an god bless.

Perhaps not, but I'm not quite sure what your remedy is here. It seems that if the meter can be separated, it should be, and make me wonder whether your landlord is able to rent the two places as separate dwellings. If you're not willing to terminate your lease over this, I would think your simplest first solution should be to try to sit down with your landlord and neighbor and work out some form of arrangement. If I were the landlord, I would think the easiest and clearly legal remedy would be to just pay the power bill and to set rent for both properties to match the average costs.
