Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Oregon

Healthy tooth damaged by dentist because of negligency

My dentist failed to look at his chart before performing and he shaved one of my teeth that he was not supposed to. He admitted that he made a mistake. This caused me serious harm (psychological and a permanent damage to the tooth. Please give me some advice on how I should proceed in this case.

Re: Healthy tooth damaged by dentist because of negligency

You should contact a lawyer to discuss the matter further. Based on what you have said, the dentist would be liable for the damages caused by the injury. The damages cannot be discussed because you have not expressed what extent the tooth was injured. Is it going to die? Must it be removed? Or, is it just a little smaller than it was, but is otherwise healthy and usable? What can be done, if anything, to repair the tooth? Depending on the answers to the foregoing questions, a lawyer should be able to determine whether there are sufficient damages to warrant pursuing the matter.
