Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Oregon

I now live in Oregon but considering medical malpractice against a hospital/dr. in California. Do I need to hire a lawyer in California to press charges or can I hire an Oregon attorney.

You almost certainly need an attorney licensed to practice in California by the California State Bar. There are hundreds of Oregon attorneys who are so licensed. Any big firm in Oregon will have California-licensed attorneys. And smaller firms or solo practitioners can easily pair up with local counsel in California to make the necessary personal appearances in the preliminary stages in court.

I do not handle cases like this, but the law firm of Kafoury McDougal in Portland does. You can reach them at 503-224-2647 or [email protected]. They provide an initial consultation visit for you at no charge, and they usually take cases on a "contingency" basis, which means that you do not have to pay them, unless they succeed in obtaining money for you from the entity that harmed you.
