Legal Question in Personal Injury in Oregon
I was in an accident that did not involve injuries. The other driver was fully at fault and his insurance covered repairs and a rental car...however, I did lose time off work to get it looked at by the other parties insurance and then get two other repair estimates so that I could make the most informed decision. The insurance is now claiming I am not entitled to any further compensation beyond the property damage (the repair of my car) and the rental vehicle they covered the cost of. I was curious if I am entitled to any compensation for the time and stress caused to get my car repaired as a result of this accident.

You are entitled to compensation for all injuries you suffered, including the loss of your time. The insurance company does not have any authority to tell you what you are entitled to or not entitled to. You also may be physically injured and do not know it yet. The insurance company will not tell you the truth.
I do not handle cases like this, but the law firm of Kafoury McDougal in Portland does. You can reach them at 503-224-2647 or [email protected]. They provide an initial consultation visit for you at no charge, and they usually take cases on a "contingency" basis, which means that you do not have to pay them, unless they succeed in obtaining money for you from the entity that harmed you.
