You need not retain an Oregon attorney. Often it is more convenient to have a Washington State attorney to handle your case if you live in Washington and your health care providers are in Washington. It makes more sense. Your attorney can get waived in to handle your case in Oregon.

Call if you have questions.

I have handled cases in Oregon before.

Where you file suit depends on where the defendant lives or where the accident took place. So you may need to file suit in Oregon.

It is very helpful to have local knowledge of the court and its procedures. Every court is different, and it seems that every court has "unwritten rules" and procedures that only lawyers who often appear in that court know about. So I would try to find an attorney who is local to the court where your suit would have to be filed.

I do not handle personal injury cases at all. Some of my clients have used the Kafoury McDougal firm in Portland, 503-224-2647. You can also contact the Oregon State Bar lawyer referral service at http://www.osbar.org.
